Wardruna orginated from Norwegian and is founded by Einar Kvitrafn Selvik in the year 2009. Wardruna will enchant you by its mesmerizing sounds their debut album is “Gap var Ginnunga”, this was part of their planned sequence. Within their resultant years, this group has spent time adjusting their music to a live format as well as creating a live band.

This change brought a series of special occasion forth and notably they performed infront of the for majestic 1100 year olwardrunad Gokstad ship, this was situated at the Viking Ship Museum.  They make use of the old Nordic Instruments as well as poetic metres and the lyrics are written in Norwegian. Wardruna is after 3 years finally ready to return with another album called Yggdrasil.  The songwriter Einar Kvitrafin Selvic has a team of vocalist, Kristian Espedal and Lindy-Fay Hella, managed to create an intense and magical continuation of what was started from their first album. Yggdrasil includes group/guest appearances by the well-known Icelandic Music composer Hilmar Orn Hilmarsson as well as Icelands leading Rimur singer called Steindor Andersen.  The band will usually be seen dressed as Heathens or as we all may know it Vikings minstrels and are connected with a lasting culture and nature.

The music is incredibly mesmerizing as two male vocalist sing with a dark passion and  the women incorporate melodies that are meant for the skys above.

The music produced is played on a ancient Viking instrument and the band itself is original as they use drumming rhymes, animal hides, horns and droning sounds to create a type of hypnotic dark sound.

Below we have a video of Wardruna, they emerge from Norwegian black metal underground group that made it big for themselves.
